In case you didn't notice, I really enjoy what I do. It's been my dream to be on the radio and nothing was going to stand in my way of living my dream. I started doing radio in 1999. I signed online and only did a show for a few hours a night from 7PM-midnight just as a hobby. It didn't become a 24/7 station for quite some time after that.
I was never officially at a "real radio station" until 2006 when a job at 101 The Rose (WROZ) in Lancaster Pennsylvania just practically fell into my lap. I did the overnight shift on weekends and filled in for Justin Broka (the weekly overnight guy) from time to time during the week. In November of 2008, Justin got promoted to news for the new morning show with Dennis and Michelle. I ended up taking over the overnight slot 7 nights a week. In January of 2009, I got let go and they switched to automation for the overnight shift due to the economy. I began to collect unemployment while looking for another job. Unfortunately, I was having trouble finding one. After about 2 months of looking, I decided to go all out and run this station 24/7. I've been loving every minute of it! It was a perfect decision.
Our current programming specializes in mostly all upbeat music from the 50s-2000 with some today's artists serving adults between the ages of 35 and 54. Regular rotation artists include Elton John, Beatles, Maroon 5, Usher, Fleetwood Mac, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Dev, The Doobie Brothers and more. The word we hear most is “fun”. It truly is “The Most Fun Radio ON Radio”.
I believe we're all uniquely gifted and created for god's purpose in this world. I just feel so at home when I'm behind a microphone. Well, come to think of it, I AM home! It’s an entire 13 step commute to my basement studio. Not being a corporate guy this is perfect. I pinch myself everyday. How blessed to be able to do what I love doing from the place I love being most.
Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to come into your homes. Thanks, and enjoy the programming!
